Card Counting Strategy
Card Counting Strategy is a technique used in blackjack to track which cards have been played and which cards remain in the deck. This strategy helps the player to make informed decisions about when to bet and when to bet lower. Using a card counting system, the advantage goes to the player when the odds of high cards (10s, Aces) in the deck are high.
Basic Steps of the Card Counting Strategy:
High-Low Counting System:
Cards are valued as follows: 2-6 +1, 7-9 0, 10 and Ace -1.
Create a “Running Count” (instant count) by updating the count each time a card is dealt.
Take into account that the cards are running low to get a “True Count”: True Count = Running Count / Number of Decks Remaining.
When the True Count is positive, i.e. above 1, you can increase your bet; when it is negative, reduce your bet or consider quitting the game.
